Two members of staff from Neville Lodge in Doncaster, part of Milewood, have been recognised for their exceptional contributions to social care at the North Yorkshire and Humber regional finals of the Great British Care Awards.
Tracey Jennings, registered manager at Neville Lodge, won the ‘Putting People First Award’, while support worker Scott Halbert took home the ‘Care Home Newcomer Award’.
Neville Lodge offers specialist residential care for men and women living with autism, providing 24-hour support and personalised packages of care designed to help each individual live their best life.
Scott was described as “an inspirational young man whose passion for care shines through. He consistently goes above and beyond for the vulnerable adults he supports, showing empathy, dedication, and creativity. His positive attitude and commitment make a genuine difference and set a great example in care.”
Tracey was praised as “a passionate advocate for service users, promoting independence, wellbeing, and autonomy. She inspires her team through leadership and compassion, creating a motivated, caring environment where clients and colleagues alike thrive.”
Speaking about his win, Scott Halbert said: “It’s an amazing feeling to be recognised so early in my career. Working at Neville Lodge has been such a rewarding experience, the people we support inspire me every day to do my best.”
Tracey Jennings said: “This award is really for the whole team. Everyone at Neville Lodge shares the same goal, which is to help our residents live fulfilled, independent lives in a supportive environment. I’m so proud of what we achieve together.”
Martyn Heginbotham, chief executive of Milewood, said: “We’re incredibly proud of both Tracey and Scott. Their dedication and compassion reflect the very best of Milewood’s values. To see both a manager and a new member of staff recognised on the same night shows the strength and spirit of the Neville Lodge team.”
