Steven Dakin, who works at Willow Tree House in Haxby, York, part of Milewood, has achieved the highest grade possible, an overall Distinction in his Level 5 Leader in Adult Care qualification.
The Level 5 award is a respected UK qualification designed to develop advanced knowledge, leadership capability, and managerial expertise within the health and social care sector. Steven completed the programme with Realise Training, undertaking an intensive 18-month course which includes 15 months of practical, one-to-one learning, followed by a three-month End Point Assessment
The training programme is specifically designed to increase both the technical understanding and hands-on abilities of individuals responsible for ensuring vulnerable adults receive the highest standard of care and support.
Willow Tree House comprises fourteen single-occupancy supported living flats, providing personalised support to adults with a range of needs.
Steven said: “I’m incredibly proud to have achieved a Distinction. The programme has strengthened my confidence and leadership skills, and I’m grateful for the support I received throughout my training. Most importantly, it’s given me even greater insight into how we can continue improving the quality of care for the people we support at Willow Tree House.”
