Three team members from Whitwell Park in Worksop, part of Milewood, have been shortlisted for the Great British Care Awards – East Midlands region.
The Great British Care Awards are a series of regional events held across the UK to celebrate excellence in the social care sector. The awards pay tribute to individuals who have demonstrated outstanding dedication, innovation, and compassion in their roles.
Whitwell Park is a specialist nursing service providing high-quality care and support for adults with learning disabilities. The finalists from the service are:
- Gemma Marston, Clinical Deputy, in the Social Care Nurse Award category
- Sergio McInnes Santos and Clive Tshuma, both in the Care Worker Award category
All three were nominated for their commitment to delivering exceptional care and for the positive impact they make every day on the lives of the people they support.
Gemma said: “I’m absolutely honoured to be recognised in this way. Working in care is incredibly rewarding, and this nomination means a lot to me and the whole team.”
Sergio added: “Being shortlisted is such a wonderful surprise. I love what I do, and it’s great to see our efforts to make a difference being appreciated.”
Clive commented: “This recognition is really for everyone at Whitwell Park. We all work together to make sure our residents receive the best possible support.”
In addition to the Whitwell Park finalists, Regional Manager Kelly Rose has been shortlisted in the Registered Manager Award category, and Milewood Chief Executive Martyn Heginbotham is a finalist in the Outstanding Contribution to Social Care Award category.
All shortlisted candidates will now be invited to attend an interview with an independent panel of judges before the winners are announced at the East Midlands regional ceremony later this year.
