Milewood has completed the acquisition of Beech Cliffe Limited, which operates two specialist care homes in Rotherham, Beech Cliffe and Beech Cliffe Grange.
Both homes, which are rated as ‘good’ by the Care Quality Commission, provide accommodation with personal care for adults with learning disabilities and sensory impairments, aligning closely with Milewood’s commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support for people with complex needs.
The acquisition follows the retirement of the previous owners, whose dedication to providing excellent care has built a strong reputation in the local community. Milewood aims to continue that legacy while enhancing the homes through targeted investment in their environments and facilities.
With a total of 20 beds, the homes will benefit from being part of a larger group and the expertise of the Milewood support team, who will provide guidance, resources, and operational support to ensure continued excellence in care delivery.
Milewood currently operates 47 specialist care and support services and is building a reputation as an innovative, high quality provider.
Martyn Heginbotham, chief executive of Milewood, said: “Beech Cliffe and Beech Cliffe Grange have long been recognised for the quality of care they provide. We are delighted to welcome them into the Milewood family and to build on their success. Our focus will be on supporting the staff teams and investing in the homes’ environments to further enhance the care experience for residents.”
Paul and Sarah Ratcliffe, outgoing owners of Beech Cliffe Ltd, said: “To even think about handing over the reins at Beech Cliffe and the Grange to anyone was a huge step, but as we have discovered, Martyn and the rest of the team at Milewood are exactly the right people to take over. We leave with absolute confidence that under Milewood’s wing our residents will continue to live their best lives and the two services will flourish. It has been both a privilege and a pleasure to be part of Beech Cliffe Ltd for the past 20 years, but we know now that a great future, something that had concerned us before meeting Milewood, has been secured for everyone involved at Beech Cliffe Ltd.”
