61 Northstead Manor Drive, Scarborough YO12 6AF
Parkview House is a large home on the North Bay side of Scarborough, overlooking Peasholm Park. The property is within easy walking distance of the beach and many local amenities. Scarborough is a lively and popular holiday resort with great beaches and a harbour, dominated by its castle.
The high level of control that clients have over their lives and the individual care plans that we develop for them helps each one move towards a level of independence that they wouldn’t be able to achieve anywhere else, which is excellent for them and their families but is also great for our society as a whole.

About Parkview House
As part of Parkview’s ideals, we try to source local charities, businesses and tourist attractions, to find new and exciting ways to improve the lives of the individuals living here. With a dedicated on site activities co-ordinator and a dedicated staff team we always have our finger on the pulse with local events, large or small, near or far.
These typically include popular pub visits, attending local clubs and societies and ‘retail therapy. There are also several leisure pursuits or local tourist spots available for service users on a regular basis, such as:
- Swimming classes
- DAG groups.
Parkview House encourages all its service users to live their best lives, constantly looking for new ways to engage them in local projects, decoration of the home and various local placements.
A home from home...
Oxbridge House is committed to developing a culture that values the service users We feel it is important to involve people in this way because: All service users have the right to know who, will be entering their home and taking responsibility for their care, support and wellbeing that will be provided to them by the staff. We recognise that qualifications and skills are especially important to effective care and support, but also that the relationships which staff build up with service users are equally as important. We want service users to feel comfortable and confident that all staff we employ will have qualities of empathy, understanding and skills to support them to have a good quality of life.
All employees will have a willingness to work positively, respectfully, and effectively with service users and their colleagues and demonstrate their ability to manage changes in their work priorities. Oxbridge House prides itself on the support offered to our service users in accessing social activities, work placements and opportunities within the community. You can view some of our service users progress and achievements in the quarterly issue of the Milewood messenger or in their personal achievement file.
All service users of Oxbridge House will be encouraged to participate in monthly service users’ meetings. This is an open forum used to discuss, issues, ideas and suggestions raised by the service users. All service users have an individual hospital passport which will go with them to any medical appointments the hospital passport explains the service user’s specific health, needs and requests and medication. The Passport is written in a format that is easy read.
