About Ash Tree House

Here at our Ash Tree House, we strongly believe in equality and diversity and independent living.  Our goal is to ensure we provide person centered care for each one of our service users. This warm and welcoming home that offers accommodation of 5 self-contained flats, with also the use of a communal lounge and dinning area, as well as a well-maintained garden. 

 Everything we do is based around our service user’s own personal choice. They choose everything it is that they want to do and making the important decisions in all aspects of their lives from, the meals they wish to eat, to what activities they would like to participate in, our staff pride themselves on promoting independence and individuality. Our dedicated team undergo extensive training which include NVQ, care certificate and specific needs training so be rest assured our service users receive tailored care specific to each of the individual’s needs. Our staff have experience working with a wide range of mental health conditions from mild and sever learning disability, epilepsy, bipolar and more.

A home from home...

We work closely with local amenities and services in order to offer our service users a wide variety of activities, learning and work opportunities, Such as larch fields community center, the unicorn horse riding center, maxis mates, Hope animal sanctuary, the Dorman’s disco, Stewarts Park, and the Herlingshaw sports center. 

We have a packed activity planner for each individual to suit all ranges of pastimes and abilities.

If it’s a sunny day we are a short distance from Stewarts Park which includes a national museum about captain cook’s birthplace, petting corner with a variety of domestic animals, trim trail and a section for outdoor sports. And if that’s not enough with just a short ride away you also have Newham grange farm, seal sands nature reserve where you can go seal spotting, and the award-winning Redcar and Saltburn beaches with all their seafront attractions. If our service users wish to go further afield, we offer trips to Newcastle, Whitby and York just to name a few. 

If it’s a bit colder we have the local little theatre which is situated in Middlesbrough which offers different musicals, pantomime, comedy shows throughout the year, Level X which is a newly built indoor entertainment park which offers miniature golf, bowling, go karting, arcades machines,  as well as a selection of restaurants and cafes.

If going out is not your thing, we offer a range of inhouse activities such as movie nights, arts and crafts, collage making, music and dance, gardening, decorating t shirts, board games, knitting, miniature painting, and video games night. As well as celebrating sporting advents and national days with themes and activities based around these set days.

Maintaining the safety, welfare and wellbeing of all our service user’s is our up most priority and we do this by operating on a lock door policy which helps prevent intruders coming into homes, we ensure all staff are up to date with all policies and procedures to help maintain high standards of care, the staff and service users come together on a monthly basis where they discuss future activities, new menu ideas, and changes they would like to see happen within the service also discussing different topics each month based on health and safety, wellbeing. Medication, healthy living, and key workers.
